Woo hoo! Hooray for Liberty print undies! Glad you are back to sewing. It must feel good to carve out some creative time for yourself and get back to "you" a bit. I can't wait to see what you design in the months to come. I will be all over those baby leggings whenever they hit your shop, because there is a serious baby boom going on with my friends and I love the idea of giving them beautiful handmade items for their babies that they will treasure over the years.

The pace of human baby development is truly remarkable. The first year they change so much and there is a lot to look forward to at every stage. Cherish every moment with your little Alden.

i hear you on the separate blog thing. lots of work, but what can you do? i have too many blogs to deal with, including one just for my parents. i feel like leon's pr person!

that's great that alden has been sleeping 4 hour stretches. we're lucky if leon manages even one of those per day.

so excited to hear you're thinking of baby and children clothing. i just spent another day feeling depressed by the boy clothing selection. i love alden's striped top/onesie, by the way. but you probably knew that!

oh..valerie, you paint such a vivid picture! i remember those days all too well. one day, they won't matter...just part of the experience...nothing great is good all the time...there has to be trial to appreciate how wonderful those little folks are...and he sounds perfect! (and looks perfect, too! can't get enough of those adorable photos!)
rock on mama. you're doing great!

there's nothing worse than a hormone-induced fear frenzy related to a newborn's unwillingness or inability to nurse. i had quite a few sobbing freak-outs in the first 3 months, but it got better for us. i still come close to those moments when leon is crying hysterically in the car-seat, unable to sleep.

i can't decide whether babies are better off in the carrier or the stroller during these humid summer days. leon always seems to get sweaty more quickly in the stroller, but shouldn't my body heat make it even hotter for him in a carrier? poor alden probably just wanted to cool off in a familiar place (aka home). i'm glad you're getting out and doing things in the city. lockdown for over 2 months really took its toll on me mentally.

i don't even want to think about the health care ridiculousness. it makes my heart sink.

Congratulations on your beautiful baby! What a lovely name too :)

I totally understand your hesitancy with sharing your birth story, I felt that way too after my daughter was born as ours did not go to plan either and I was afraid of sharing all the gory details lest it scare other people. I read all the birth stories too, and though 'that doesn't sound so bad!'

It's very true, as you said, that no matter how much you plan and research things don't always (or usually!) turn out the way you imagined.

Enjoy your sweet little baby!
